State of the Word at #WCUS A post shared by WordCamp US (@wordcampus) on Dec 5, 2015 at 2:33pm PST I live blogged Matt Mullenweg‘s State of the Word today at WordCamp US on the official WCUS site (and Twitter and Instagram). And that is basically a sentence I could never have imagined writing six months ago, much less a year ago when I first convinced myself to apply at Automattic. Ah, life. ❤ More soon, but first I need to sleep so I’m good to go at Contributor Day tomorrow (and also I need time to gather my thoughts on this whole thing because it’s been great).
Hanging out & snagging swag. #WCUS A post shared by WordCamp US (@wordcampus) on Dec 4, 2015 at 5:45am PST Day 1 of WordCamp US is done. And livetweeting a conference is no joke, y’all. I need to sleeeeeeeeeeeeep. (And then do it all again tomorrow!)
I made it to Philly today in time to hang with some coworkers, eat a delicious grilled cheese sandwich & some cookies in Reading Terminal Market, then swing by the WordCamp US dinner tonight to kick things off. And what I’ve seen of Philly so far is great. I hope I can find time to do swing by a few of the touristy spots while I’m here. My day at WCUS starts bright & early tomorrow. I’ll be on the tweets (@WordCampUS & #wcus) and it’s going to be a great day! But first, I need to sleep… since I have to be up in less than six hours.
I have to leave my house just after 6am tomorrow to get to the airport in time for my flight to Philly. It’ll be my first time in the city and also my first time at WordCamp US! (It’s technically everyone’s first, since it’s the inaugural one, but still. I’ve only ever been to WordCamp in DFW so far.) I’m volunteering at WCUS and will be the person behind the tweets (see: @WordCampUS & #wcus) & some other cool stuff I’ll mention later. 😉 If you’ll be there, say hi! (You can still grab a ticket!) Or if you’re not nearby, check out the livestream. It’s going to be a great weekend! And I hope I get to see some of Philly while I’m there too! 😀
I shared some reasons bloggers & writers should attend WordCamp US in Philly next month over on the WCUS blog today. You should probably grab a ticket & come hang out!
I had the privilege of posting on WordPress.com’s news blog (with 22 million followers!) yesterday about WordCamp US. (Very cool and a bit nerve-racking!) And not only did I post about WCUS, I’ll also be there along with a bunch of other awesome people, so you should snag a ticket & come hang out in Philly next month!
