My BFF is visiting from Austin for a few days, so of course that means a whole lot of talking, lounging, and eating extra-delicious food. We went out for my favorite local pizza (Cane Rosso) right after I got her from the airport, and tonight we went to Liberty Burger for The Nooner: It has hashbrowns on it! And an egg! OMG it’s so good! And tomorrow before she leaves we’re hitting the amazing BBQ place nearby (One90) and my favorite bakery (Haute Sweets Patisserie) that’s right next door. After I drop her off at the airport tomorrow afternoon, I’ll try to remember what a vegetable is again. Promise. 😉
We finally got a chance to try Good 2 Go Taco on Peavy in northeast Dallas (in the White Rock Lake area) and it did not disappoint. We tried a breakfast taco, and one of their breakfast plates (with pulled pork). And Cultivar Coffee has a counter inside so we grabbed a cappuccino and a cold brew iced coffee too. All recommended! Grabbed breakfast at Good 2 Go Taco & tried @cultivarcoffee yesterday. YES to both. Will be back often. 🙌🏼 A post shared by Sarah Blackstock (@sarahblackstock) on Sep 27, 2015 at 1:58pm PDT
For the past several months, we’ve been really great at eating dinner at home during the work week. We’ve got our routine down: plan meals Saturday, shop at Central Market early Sunday Morning (it’s Hatch Chile Fest time right now!), Husband cooks us delicious, properly-portioned food all week (with help keeping track of it all using MyFitnessPal). The weekends, however, are another story. We hit the town for our faves & to try new places. On Saturday, we tried Stackhouse Burgers in Dallas (near Deep Ellum). They’ve got the standard burger toppings, lots of cheese options, good bacon & buns, and delicious fries. Plus you can opt to have your burger a bit pink, instead of well-done. And the restaurant is in a cute old house! Burger & fries kind of weekend. We tried Stackhouse Burgers on Gaston (near Deep Ellum). Really good & in a cute house. My sister drove to Dallas this morning to visit for the weekend, so of course we had to take her to the pizza place we’ve discovered since the her last trip up. It’s amazing. Cane Rosso‘s four locations around DFW make up four of the five places in Texas certified by the American delegation of the Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana for serving authentic neapolitan pizza. I’d never had neapolitan pizza before trying Cane Rosso and OHMYYYYYYY. It’s so good. Full of flavor, and on the light side (for pizza at least). They bake their pizzas for at around 900F for about 90 seconds in a red oven you can spot when you walk in the door. I seriously can’t say enough good things about this pizza. (Also recommend their desserts!) Lunch at @canerossotx in Dallas. 😍 Certified authentic Neapolitan Pizza and soooooo good. Try the Ella for simple & delicious. This is totally off my usual technology/internet/feminist focus, but LA Burger is so good that I feel the need to tell everyone. Seoul Dog & K-Fries @ LA Burger in Richardson. 10/10 – Always recommend! A post shared by Sarah Blackstock (@sarahblackstock) on Apr 25, 2015 at 4:31pm PDT The Seoul Dog is FANTASTIC. The K-Fries are DELICIOUS. And there are great Korean Fusion burgers too! I didn’t even know I liked kimchi until I tried it here and found out I love it! They’ve got three locations in the DFW area now (Richardson, Carrollton, and Valley Ranch). If you’re nearby, GO!
