This quote has been on my mind lately. I think it could be easy to interpret it as a call to make your reading more literary and highbrow and serious (and maybe it was), but from my modern day viewpoint, in which the average number of books read by Americans 18+ each year is twelve, I’d say: reading is reading is reading and you should read what you love, what inspires you, what moves you, and what makes you happy. Don’t let some arbitrary requirement to read serious books written by serious men dictate how many books you read each year, or how much you enjoy your reading. Because if we are what we read, I must be pretty fantastic. 😉 Download the desktop wallpaper or a square image (pictured at the top) for printing and/or general gazing upon in one of these formats: JPG, PNG, PDF. I’ve got this free wallpaper by The Cottage Market on my desktop right now. It’s simple enough to not distract me and a good reminder for someone spending her days as a Happiness Engineer. Click the image to see the download options, including mobile sizes.
