Six years ago today, I stood in Prospect Park in New York, surrounded by a handful of family and friends, and married a fantastic human being then went out for cheeseburgers. It was without a doubt the best decision I’ve ever made.
Looking back now, considering six great years full of moves, job switches, home buying, and partner-in-crime-ing, I find myself feeling so thankful for the technological advances that have made the world small enough for me to meet and love a Dutch guy, for him to meet and love a Texan, and for us to be happily living in the same place now, even though neither of us ever could’ve predicted marrying someone from outside of our own countries. We live in a great time. And this is a great life.
