Mario Lopez is the Reason I’m Watching Rectify

Last night while I read the tweets about the Duggar interview in disgust (because WTF is this molestation apology bullshit?!), I saw Mario Lopez tweeting a few things with which I agreed:

(Note: I usually avoid him because AC Slater was my least favorite part of Saved by the Bell BY FAR, because “hey mama” & other gross things.)

Then his next tweet after the Duggar ones was about a TV show called Rectify, which I had vaguely heard of but had no idea what it was about and had never considered watching.

(It’s about a guy who’s released from death row after DNA evidence clears him. WHY DID I NOT KNOW THIS BEFORE? Totally my kind of show… maybe.)

And now I’m starting Rectify right after I post this. Thanks, AC/Mario.

I LOVE Rectify. It’s beautifully shot, patient and complicated. It’s also heart-wrenching. I don’t think I’ve ever cried harder watching a TV show. Plus created by Ray McKinnon!
